Richard Murray

Richard Murray has worked in all facets of theater and has acquired skills that have equipped him to not only understand the requirements of the industry, but also teach and mentor. In 2005 he began teaching children drama theatre at Fresh Visions Youth Theatre in Germantown in Philadelphia. His experience includes, but is not limited to playwright, stage manager, tour manager, and director. He also authored a children’s book and has two published poetry books.

He was the Director of CSN Summer Youth Arts Studio and set the standard for impressive, impactful stage productions that continue to receive rave reviews from professional artists.

Richard wrote, produced, and toured with a children’s play for adult actors about Nutrition for FoodPlay productions. He also was the Tour Manager for an east coast tour. He had several plays produced such as “Brother it Ain’t About You”, “Raheem’s Ride on the Spirit Train” and “Trish’s Healthy Adventures”.

Richard has trained youth and adults in communities and churches in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Atlanta, Georgia. He also worked and directed shows at the Arts Bank, Walnut Street Theatre Black Box, Prince Music Theater, and the Painted Bride in Philadelphia.

Teaching the spirit of theatre as well as the inner workings of a production has been his passion and privilege as he has seen the positive effects.
