Wardell Pearson Jr. of Philadelphia, PA has been playing drums since the tender age of 3 years-old on a pots and pans ensemble.

At age nine, Wardell began performing at his grandmother’s church, playing drums for dozens of youth choirs in Philadelphia and the tri-state area.

Wardell credits his musical growth to his experience playing in church. It’s the perfect training ground for a young drummer, says Wardell.

I feel blessed and privileged to play drums for a living and have people enjoy my art as well as putting bands together and helping guide younger musicians and giving them opportunities.

Wardell’s talent and passion have taken him around the world. He’s performed internationally with Dice Raw, Guordan Banks, TANK, Vivian Green, David P. Stevens, Twyse & da BandwagOn, Jazmine Sullivan, Latif, Marvin Winans Jr,.Ted & Sherri ,Darwin Hobbs, April Peters and a host of others, as well as being Music director and coordinator For numerous Stage Plays all around the country.

This passion has also lead him into a position as the new (Music Coordinator/ Special Events director at The Philadelphia renown FREEDOM THEATRE .Wardell Prides himself in teaching the next generation and mentoring as well as bringing quality music experiences to the community to keep Good music and artistry alive.
